Frequent questions

How much does a translation from German into English cost?

Translations are charged per source word and the cost is determined before the start. For translations from German into English, we charge EUR 0.112 for the BASIC quality level, and EUR 0.139 per word for the standard-compliant PRO quality level. You can find more information under Prices.

How much does a certified translation cost?

Certification is charged in addition to the translation per page or document – whichever is more affordable for you in total. We charge EUR 6.50 per page or alternatively a flat rate of EUR 15.00 per document if there are many pages. The cost is the same regardless of whether it is a matter of certifying a simple text translation or translations of documents.

What do translations from the translation agency cost?

We charge per word for translations. The total cost of a translation also depends on the language combination, the target language, the choice of subject areas as well as the total number of words. Our prices per word start from EUR 0.099/word. Our translation service offers very attractive prices per word compared to other translation service providers.

How long does it take to get a quote?

Once you have submitted your query, you will receive your quote by email within 30 minutes on working days between 8 am and 5 pm. Queries submitted after 5 pm and at weekends and on bank holidays will be dealt with on the next working day. The translations themselves can also be completed outside these times and at the weekend, if necessary.

Is the layout adopted for text translations?

The layout and formatting is adopted in the translation for all editable original documents. This includes the font, font colour, bold script and the general structure of the document for each text. This is not possible as standard for PDF documents. However, with our DTP service and foreign language typesetting, we offer professional recreation of all layouts for any PDF text. An experienced professional recreates the layout by hand.

Are there different types of translations?

In addition to simple text translation, the translation agency also provides the localization of texts for your target market. This means that as an agency we also take care of adapting texts to local conditions as well as trends in the corresponding target market. As a result, the translations are written somewhat more freely – as they would have been written, for example, by a local marketer.

What is the difference between native language and target language?

Native language means the language that the translators grew up speaking and in which they completed their school education. Target language means the language into which a text is translated, and is the opposite of source language. Our translators only ever translate into their native language. Only a certified translation may be produced by non-natives in individual cases.

How long does it take to translate texts?

A translator can translate around 2,000 to 3,000 words per day, which is the equivalent of about 5-8 sides of A4.

Is it possible to translate a text into several languages at the same time?

We translate into any language in the world, and since all translations are completed by individual translators, we can also work on the translations in parallel, meaning that in theory all translations can be delivered at the same time.

Do specialist translations take longer than normal translations?

In terms of time, it makes no difference whether simple/general texts are being translated or whether it is a specialist translation in a particularly demanding subject area.
