3. Transfer of data

We use cookies on our website. These are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our website. Cookies do no damage to your end device, do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.

Information is stored in the cookie that results in each case in connection with the specifically used terminal device. However, this does not mean that we immediately become aware of your identity.

The use of cookies serves on the one hand to make the use of our website more convenient for you. We use so-called session cookies to recognise that you have already visited specific pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our website.

In addition, we also use temporary cookies that are stored on your end device for a specified period of time to optimise user-friendliness. If you visit our website again to use our services, these cookies automatically recognise that this is a repeat visit to our website and which entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to make them again.

On the other hand, we use cookies in order to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our services (see section 5). These cookies allow us to automatically recognise that you are a repeat visitor to our website. These cookies are automatically deleted after a set period of time.

The data processed by cookies are necessary for the aforementioned purposes to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 clause 1 lit. f of the GDPR.

Most internet browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser in such a way that no cookies are stored on your end device or a message always appears before a new cookie is created. However, the complete deactivation of cookies may mean that you cannot use all the features of our website.

5. Analysis tools

b) Google Analytics

For the purpose of demand-oriented design and continuous optimisation of our pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://about.google/intl/ALL_uk/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter ‘Google’). In this context, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as the

– browser type/version
– operating system used
– referrer URL (the previously visited page)
– host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
– time of the server request

are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services related to website and internet usage for the purposes of market research and needs-based design of this website. Furthermore, this information may be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. In no case will your IP address be associated with other data from Google. The IP addresses are anonymised so that allocation is not possible (IP masking).

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full features of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and its processing by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent future collection of your data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will have to reset the opt-out cookie.

Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found, for example, in the Google Analytics Help (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/ 6004245?hl=en).

c) Google-AdWords-Conversion-Tracking

In order to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our website for you, we also use Google conversion tracking. In the process, Google AdWords creates a cookie (see section 4) on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad.

These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the AdWords customer’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognise that the user has clicked on the ad and been redirected to this page.

Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means therefore that cookies cannot be traced via the websites of Adwords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have selected conversion tracking. AdWords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not obtain any information which can be used to identify users personally.

If you do not wish to participate in conversion tracking, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie required for this – for example, via the browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking, by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain ‘www.googleadservices.com’ are blocked. You can find Google’s privacy policy on conversion tracking here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).

6. Social media plug-ins

We use social media plug-ins on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f of the GDPR from the social networks Facebook and Twitter to raise awareness of our website. The underlying commercial purpose can be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The relevant provider must guarantee responsibility for operation that conforms to data protection regulations. We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to provide visitors to our website with the best possible protection.

a) Facebook

Social media plug-ins from Facebook are used on our website to make their use more personal. We use the ‘LIKE’ or ‘SHARE’ button for this purpose. This is a service provided by Facebook.

If you access a page of our website containing this plugin, your browser will establish a direct link to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly to your browser by Facebook and integrated into the website by it.

By integrating the plug-ins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is sent directly by your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to our website directly to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the ‘LIKE’ or ‘SHARE’ button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information will also be published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook contacts.

Facebook can use this information for advertising purposes, market research and the needs-based design of the Facebook pages. For this purpose, Facebook creates user, interest and relationship profiles to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook, for example.

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and privacy protection settings can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).

b) Twitter

Our website contains plug-ins of the short messaging network of Twitter Inc. (Twitter). You can recognise the Twitter plug-ins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. You will find an overview of tweet buttons here: (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).

When you visit a page of our website that contains such a plug-in, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. This informs Twitter that you have visited our website with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter ‘tweet’ button while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Twitter profile. This means that Twitter will be able to allocate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the website host, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter.

If you do not want Twitter to link your visit to our website, please log out of your Twitter account.

Further information about this can be found in Twitter’s data protection declaration (https://twitter.com/privacy).

As a rule, this involves 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed lock symbol in the lower status bar or upper address bar of your browser.

Furthermore, we take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved to meet state-of-the-art requirements.
